Born in East Germany, Patrick started his professional dance training at the 'Ballet School of Berlin', and then the Hamburg Ballet School-John Neumeier. On completing his dance education he worked with two dance companies in Europe.
After finishing his professional career as a dancer in Europe he studied full time in alternative medicine in Hamburg and later in Auckland, specialising in massage and kinesiology.
Since 2001 Patrick has lived in New Zealand, working as a self employed dancer, choreographer, actor and freelance teacher, registered NZAMD teacher for Contemporary Dance and as a Massage and Kinesiology Practitioner. As well as teaching at various dance studios and holiday programmes, he runs his own Massage and Kinesiology clinic in Devonport.
In recent years he has explored his passion in acting, studying voice and drama work professionally. This in turn provides a whole new spectrum when creating new works in genre of 'Dance Theatre'.
Patrick has taught either Classical Ballet Technique (Vaganova Technique/ American Ballet Technique) or the NZAMD Contemporary Dance Syllabus, in all levels. In order to work his dance students more fully, he started to teach body-conditioning for all ages – exploring safety moving techniques, cardio, speed, strengthening and flexibility exercises.
Patrick has a holistic approach to dance and health, and based on his knowledge grained from his diverse experiences, he has explored a unique teaching method to boost performance in students.
